“The PRAM mentors made such a difference. I was able to feel confident when it came time for my baby to arrive—even managing early labour at home. I knew what to do without fear or worry.
I am so thankful.”
“It’s been a real relief to connect with local support. I hadn’t realised how much I was carrying until I started talking to someone.”
“My family stopped speaking with me after they found out that I had continued the pregnancy.
I was alone and out of options... until I found PRAM.”
"No one—not even my psychologist—told me that the abortion could impact me like this. I felt rushed into the decision, and I wasn’t prepared for the feelings of emptiness that followed and the urge to want another pregnancy straight away. PRAM helped me understand and process my grief".
VISION

"PRAM exists to provide free and confidential care during pregnancy, the postpartum period, and times of loss. We envision a future where every woman is supported, safe, empowered, and surrounded by hope. PRAM offers a respectful space where unexpected pregnancy, reproductive loss, perinatal grief, prenatal diagnosis, or early parenting difficulties are met with understanding, support, and hope, ensuring no woman walks the journey alone".

MISSION

PRAM’s mission is to ensure women and families have access to free, confidential, and inclusive support during unexpected pregnancy, pregnancy‑related crisis, reproductive loss, prenatal diagnosis, and postpartum or early parenting difficulties.

Our work is grounded in our four core values:

Hope We walk alongside women with encouragement, clarity, and compassion, supporting them to navigate difficult circumstances with renewed confidence and evidence‑based information.

Nurturing Care We provide gentle, trauma‑informed, non‑directional support that honours each woman’s lived experience. Every interaction is shaped by kindness, respect, and a commitment to emotional, physical, and social wellbeing.

Accessibility Our services are free, welcoming, and available to all women and families, regardless of background or circumstance. We offer practical assistance, advocacy, and referrals to ensure every woman can access the support she needs.

Confidentiality We protect every woman’s privacy with the highest level of care. All information shared with PRAM is held in strict confidence, and our environment is designed to ensure safety, trust, and discretion.

PRAM supports women through all forms of reproductive and perinatal loss, including miscarriage, stillbirth, IVF loss, early infant loss, TMFR, and post‑termination grief. We also provide compassionate support and advocacy for women navigating a life‑limiting prenatal diagnosis, offering space to process information, explore care options, and receive emotional support without pressure or coercion.
We understand that pregnancy and early parenting can become a crisis when stressors such as fear, confusion, homelessness, relationship conflict, financial strain, mental illness, or social pressures arise. PRAM’s role is to walk alongside women with nurturing care, hope, and confidentiality, empowering them to make fully informed decisions and supporting healing wherever it is needed.
We provide practical assistance such as infant clothing, baby furniture, and essential items, and we offer referral pathways to housing support, family violence services, antenatal care, early parenting programs, and mental health services.

What we don't do

PRAM does not provide or assist in arranging abortions or abortifacients.
We do support women and families after a termination, including emotional care, recovery support, and assistance with accessing a GP or other health professionals.

PRAM is not affiliated with any political cause, campaign, or organisation, and we are not connected to any religious entity. Our support is grounded solely in professional, ethical, and client‑centred practice.

Any professional care or advice offered at PRAM is provided only within the practitioner’s scope of practice, or under appropriate authorisation from relevant regulatory bodies in accordance with state requirements.

We are committed to offering accurate, evidence‑based information about abortion procedures, risks, emotional impacts, and recovery, delivered in a non‑directional, compassionate, and trauma‑informed manner. All information shared at PRAM aligns with our mission and values.

All PRAM staff and volunteers are screened, supervised, and supported to ensure they practise within their scope and uphold an excellent standard of care at all times.
